LEARNING OUTCOMES
From this Master you will obtain the skills and knowledge you need to:
- Train physiotherapists who are specialists in prevention, recovery and the process of getting athletes competitive again following injuries that are typical of team sports.
SYLLABUS
MODULE 1. Physical exercise for the improvement and maintenance of health (10 ECTS)
This module is aimed at acquiring skills and knowledge about the prescription of physical exercise for the improvement and maintenance of health. The work planning and programming of the physical abilities related to the health of the athlete and with the objective of preventing, recovering and / or return to sport the injured athlete will be worked in an integrated way.
MODULE 2. Sports injuries I. Head, trunk and upper limb (10 ECTS)
This module is aimed at acquiring skills and knowledge about the main strategies for injury prevention in team sports. Knowledge about severity, pathophysiology, etiology and diagnosis of the main lesions of the upper limb and trunk will also be acquired. Finally, knowledge and skills will be advocated to successfully program the processes of recovery and optimal rehabilitation of the main injuries of the upper limb, trunk and head in team sports.
MODULE 3. Sports injuries II. Lower limb (10 ECTS)
This module is aimed at acquiring knowledge about severity, pathophysiology, etiology and diagnosis of the main injuries of the lower limb. In turn, knowledge and skills will be advocated to successfully program the processes of recovery and optimal rehabilitation of the main injuries of the lower limb in team sports.
MODULE 4. Pharmacology, first aid and sports nutrition (5 ECTS)
This module addresses the basic professional knowledge and skills of the physiotherapist in pharmacology, immediate care of the injury and first aid, and sports nutrition.
MODULE 5. Management, communication and bioethics in sport. Research methodology (10 ECTS)
This module is oriented, on the one hand, towards the acquisition of skills and knowledge on management, communication and psychology applied to team sports and, on the other hand, towards the deepening of the foundations and foundations of the research methodology and bioethics to be able to carry out a successful research project.
MODULE 6. Placements I (3 ECTS)
Mandatory module not subject to recognition and consisting of the completion of a 75-hour internship.
This rotary includes an itinerary that passes through different departments of the Joan Gamper Sports City of the Barcelona Football Club (FCB) and is always supervised by a club physiotherapist.
MODULE 7. Placements II (4 ECTS)
Module subject to recognition and which consists in the accomplishment of 100h practices in physiotherapy of team sports.
MODULE 8. End-of-master project (8 ECTS)
The Master’s Thesis (TFM) aims to integrate and deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired throughout the master, carrying out a successful research project.
It consists of an individual, unpublished and original work of the student himself, which will be guided by a doctor who is an expert in the subject of the TFM.
This work will culminate in the elaboration of a written article that must also be submitted orally and defended before an expert tribunal.
